Wunderground Personal Weather Stations

Venture Weather supports viewing data from your personal weather station via Wunderground.

Most personal weather stations that can report weather to a cloud service or some web interface support this. By using Wunderground it allows us to support any kind of weather station that can send its data to Wunderground. We then use additional weather service sytems to fill in the gaps for any data that Wunderground doesn’t supply.

Setting up your PWS with Wunderground

Connecting your PWS to Wunderground depends on the brand of PWS you have. In general, for any station, you need to create a Wunderground account, and then register a PWS, which will provide you with a Station ID and a Station Key. These two elements are what Venture Weather needs to then pull your station’s weather. Then you will need to configure your station to send data to your Wunderground account (this part is brand specific). Listed below are some resources to help with this (please let us know if you setup a station from a brand not listed below and any helpful docs and we’ll add them here).

You can do this on the Wunderground website: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/signup

AcuRite/myAcuRite

Connecting an AcuRite PWS is quite easy (I have my own connected). See the AcuRite support articleSharing with Weather Underground for complete instructions. This essentially amounts to putting that same Wunderground Station ID and Station Key into your AcuRite station’s configuration.
